Recent updates from the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs

OFCCP’s first FY 2020 Directive (2020-01) intends to “ensure that federal contractors are not discriminating against spouses of protected veterans and to provide compliance assistance during compliance evaluations on how contractors can support the families of protected veterans.“

Directive 2020-01: Spouses of Protected Veterans

The OFCCP continues with its release of new Compliance Assistance Guides in its efforts to provide relevant compliance assistance to federal contractors in their understanding of federal laws and regulations. They provide guidelines as to the federal contractors’ obligations and the OFCCP’s expectations.  https://www.dol.gov/ofccp/CAGuides/

In its commitment to protecting the rights of individuals with disabilities and protected veterans in the workplace, the OFCCP has proceeded with conducting focused reviews under Section 503 and VEVRAA. Federal contractors are expected to be in full compliance with the implementing changes to these regulations; changes that became effective in March 2014.  The FY2019 supplemental VEVRAA Focused Review Scheduling List is found at: https://www.dol.gov/ofccp/scheduling/. This list supplements the Corporate Scheduling Announcement List (CSAL) released by the OFCCP in March 2019. https://www.dol.gov/ofccp/foia/foialibrary/index.html#Q1
